六瑞

The six auspicious indications attributed to the Buddha as a preliminary to his delivery of the <Lotus Sutra>, see [lang id =1028]法華經, [lang id =1028]序品:

(1) his opening address on the infinite;

(2) his (sa) samādhi;

(3) the rain of flowers;

(4) the earthquake;

(5) the delight of the beholders;

(6) the Buddha-ray.

佛要說法華經時， 先現出六種的祥瑞， 以作為開經的由序緣起， 謂之法華六瑞序， 即說法瑞、 入定瑞、 雨華瑞、 地動瑞、 心喜瑞、 放光瑞。 此六瑞是三世十方諸佛欲說法華經時所必定示現的教化儀式。
